Internship – Sustainable Building – Investigating Physical Characteristics of Buildings

We believe that the key to success lies in understanding the physical characteristics that make a building suitable for energy neutrality.

As an intern in Sustainable Building, you play a crucial role in our pursuit of designing and builing sustainable buildings. You will delve into an engaging problem statement: how can we determine, based on the physical characteristics of a building, whether it is suitable for energy neutrality?


What you do:

Literature Study:

  • Explore previous studies on energy-neutral building practices.
  • Identify relevant variables, both in terms of construction and installation.

Study VABI Elements of Different Shapes:

  • Simulate various shapes to determine the optimal design and tipping point for energy neutrality.

Study with VABI Elements of Different Building Types:

  • Investigate the influence of building types on energy neutrality.
  • Assign different functions to building shapes and set conditions for energy neutrality.

You are:

  • Studying in a relevant field, such as Building Physics, Architecture, Sustainable Technology, or a similar discipline.
  • Interested in sustainable construction and energy neutrality.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Independent and proactive.
  • Able to write the project and do research in Dutch
